![]() Again a very small number of users have reported slowing down of their system after extended periods. Very rarely some users would have icons missing in the Bartender Bar, this should be fixed, we have not seen this issue here, so please do send feedback if you see this. A visual bug appeared that all contained items did not shift with the Bartender Bar frame this is now fixed. Closed the Bartender Bar and reopened it. Notification Center UI bug In the previous version, if you: Showed the Bartender Bar. In this version a lot of effort has been put into stabilizing everything and preventing rare issues. We have been working extremely hard to polish up Bartender after releasing 1.0. We have worked around the OSX bug and after a restart the issue should be gone. OSX has a bug that would cause some apps controlled by Bartender to crash, this was a very rare issue but an unacceptable one. We have made many improvements to memory usage and performance to prevent this. Overall, Bartender is a great tweak that make OS X's menu bar icons manageable. You can also drag Bartender's tray across the menu bar to place where you like. You can set custom keyboard shortcuts to bring up Bartender for quick access. This is disconcerting and hopefully the developers will fix this issue. In use, Bartender worked well for taming most of our icons but a few applications didn't play nicely and didn't show up in the Bartender app at all. ![]() This makes the OS X menu bar act much like Window's system tray. You can tell it to always show an icon, only show it when there's an update, or hide it all together (if that's not an option within the app itself). macOS Sonoma will be in beta testing for several months, with a public release for the fall.Bartender is extremely flexible. Other new features include improved search that's faster and more responsive, password and passkey sharing, a revamped stickers interface for the Messages app, PDF integration in notes that makes it easier than ever to manage PDFs, and more. Video conferencing has improved with a new Presenter Overlay view that shows your desktop or project in new ways, plus Safari now supports web apps for the Dock and the option to create Profiles so you can separate personal browsing from work browsing. Through Continuity, your iPhone's widgets can also show up on your Mac's desktop. ![]() Widgets are more interactive than before, so you can use them to do things like play music, turn off the lights in your home, and more. Widgets can be arranged in any way that's useful, and when you're using an app, they are designed to fade into the background so they're less distracting. You can use the new widget gallery to choose from a range of widgets, and then drag them to your Mac's desktop. MacOS Sonoma introduces new Apple TV-like screen savers that also serve as wallpapers after you log in, plus it moves widgets to the desktop. Registered developers can download the beta through the Apple Developer Center and after the appropriate profile is installed, with the betas available through the Software Update mechanism in System Settings. While the beta is limited to developers at this time, Apple plans to provide a public beta later this summer. The beta comes two weeks after the launch of the first beta that came out following the June 5 WWDC keynote event. Apple today seeded the second beta of the recently announced macOS 14 Sonoma update to developers for testing purposes.
